Ghost Marrow, |
|
Residual sockets or laminar rain remaining years after extraction are a hallmark of chronic ischemia of jawbone marrow. Here there has been so little remodeling that even the inter-dental trabeculae (Jacob's ladders) remain. The hazy, faintly ground glass-like appearance of the inferior portion of the film has few trabeculae and represents "ghost marrow," a common radiographic feature of osteonecrosis of long bones. |
