Traumatic Bone Cyst-Like Radiolucency with Scalloped Superior Margin |
|
The superior margin scallops between the roots, much like a traumatic (unicameral) bone cyst), but here the lesion was filled with soft, greasy mush. The lesion also shows a very faint ground-glass background (ghost marrow) with a large circular area of increased radiolucency toward the right. Residual trabeculae in the lesion appear more prominent than usual. It may be that the traumatic bone cyst is simply a variation of ischemic osteonecrosis. |
