Figure 20: Technitium-99 MDP bone scan may show that other facial bones are involved.  Here the left zygoma and ethmoid regions are affected, i.e. show as hot spots, in addition to all four quadrants of the alveolar bone.  The patient had previously been treated for atypical facial neuralgia/pain.
