NICO = Painful Osteonecrosis of Tooth-Bearing Jawbone

Two NICO lesions (arrows) in the molar region of the lower jaw, in a patient with
long-term lower face pain. Both sites are old extraction sites, one (on right) is under
a bridge and shows mottled white patches on a gray/black background, with scalloped
margins. Patient had been diagnosed with atypical facial neuralgia/pain.
